The athletics program at AFLBS provides opportunities for student leadership, student body fellowship, and an outlet for giving testimony to the love of Christ. Many AFLBS participate in various athletic activities during their time at AFLBS.
AFLBS participates in men’s and women’s intercollegiate basketball as a member of both the Northern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NIAC) and the Association of Christian College Athletics (ACCA). The AFLBS Conquerors basketball teams play many other Bible colleges and small Christian universities in addition to several community and technical colleges.
Organized intramural activities provide students a chance to enjoy the outdoors and creates friendly athletic competition among the campus family. Intramural softball games are held off campus in nearby community parks and intramural Ultimate Frisbee games take place on campus. These two intramural activities alternate each fall and spring.
Athletic Facilities and Equipment
The AFLBS campus is includes sand volleyball courts, a soccer field, and exercise and weight equipment in each dorm. The basketball program practices and hosts most home games in the gymnasium at Heritage Christian Academy in Maple Grove, about 15 minutes from the campus.
The Free Lutheran Schools are making significant progress toward the construction of a gymnasium, with the goal of opening a new gymnasium for use in the fall of 2019. Click here to learn more.
